Cristiano Ronaldo, James Dean, Tony Hawk. What do all these monumental men have in common? They have laughably inaccurate sculpture’s of them living out in the world.
Tony’s not ringing a bell? That’s because I just made it, and he and the rest of the world don’t even know it exists yet.
Until now.
In this episode of Jenkem Tries, we get our hands dirty within the world of ceramics. Thanks to my good friend Camila Lim-Hing and her studio Good Job Clay, we smocked up and sat down to create a “realistic” bust of the Birdman.
As you can imagine, sculpting an accurate nose, eyes, and mouth of somebody is easier said than done, so watch along as we learn terms like centering, scoring, and slip with the goal of avoiding an award for worst statue ever made.
Do you have a hobby or side hustle you want to see featured on Jenkem Tries? Hit us up, and in the meantime, go try something new. Thanks for watching!
