JENKEM MIX 157: RUBY LILLEY

October 14, 2025/ / MIX SERIES/ Comments: 4

As someone who has never ripped through the deep end of a backyard pool and front 5-0’d some crunchy ass coping, it can be hard for me to get hyped on transition skating. It’s foreign to me, but that’s not to say the right skater can’t get me dreaming up some vert to skate.

18-year-old Ruby Lilley is one of those skaters.

With an infectious, jump-head-first-into-a-mosh, energy, Ruby has quickly become a standout. She’s a resilient slam taker and a creative street transition finder. And that’s not to say she can’t hold her own in the land of knee pads and masonite, because she more than can.

Coming off some of her best footage yet in Monster’s fourth “Down Straight Up!” episode, we thought now would be a good time to comb through Ruby’s metaphorical CD player.

On it, you’ll find tracks from Agent Orange and Operation Ivy as well as tracks from Crystal Castles and Snow Strippers. A perfect representation of a skater who grew up surrounded by vert icons breaking out and finding her own lane.

Can’t call yourself a skateboarder if you’ve never ridden a backyard pool. Call up Tony Farmer and have him take you to some pits in Long Island.
