When we first heard of a guy making music under the name “Mall Grab,” we imagined he was just another jerk-off ironically hitching a ride on the sk8 bandwagon to cultural relevancy. And while skateboarding may inadvertently increase the value of his market shares, he’s not actually guilty of the cardinal sin of carrying his board by the truck.
Mall Grab skates, he’s down to play shows to help save important skate spots (or at least ones with decent acoustics) and his music is actually great. So if you’re into the newest wave of house, electronic and beyond, stab the aux cable into your eardrum and enjoy.
This mix, done by Mallgrab himself, moves from electronic to Southern rap with a dashes of jungle and punk. Plus it’s all broken up by funny audio samples from iconic skate vids.
Stream Mall Grab’s mix below or download it here, and if the feeling grabs you, send us a pic of your most innovative mall grab for a chance to have your image lost on one of our hard drives.
More Mixes? Check out: Heath Kirchart, Bill Strobeck, Blondey McCoy, Louie Lopez, Nora Vasconcellos, Alltimers, Rodrigo TX, Stefan Janoski, Franky Villani, Pass~Port, The 69 Mix, Beagle, LurkNYC, Bam Margera, Mike Arnold, Jason Sallilas, or Kevin Rodrigues.
