YES, WE ARE BACK! It’s been a long time since we’ve posted an official Jenkem Mix, but that’s because we wanted our one hundredth installment to be a real banger, something a little more special than a playlist slapped together by some kid with a good kickflip or whatever. We wanted to tap someone whose life and work speak to skateboarding’s independent ethos while also transcending it.
So when we got in touch with Darryl Jenifer, the bassist for the legendary DC-punk/reggae band Bad Brains, through a friend at Element who are working on a collab with them, we knew we could finally celebrate six years of Jenkem mixes properly.
For those that think they don’t know who Bad Brains are, you’re probably wrong. You’ve seen their iconic album art riffed on by countless skate shops and brands, their music has soundtracked skate videos since day one and has encouraged generations of kids to start bands of their own.
Throw this mix on, download it here while you can, get into a good Positive Mental Attitude, and celebrate the return of Jenkem Mixes with us below. One love!
More Mixes? Check out: Heath Kirchart, Bill Strobeck, Blondey McCoy, Louie Lopez, Nora Vasconcellos, Alltimers, Rodrigo TX, Stefan Janoski, Franky Villani, Pass~Port, The 69 Mix, Beagle, LurkNYC, Bam Margera, Mike Arnold, Jason Sallilas, or Kevin Rodrigues.

bad brains are maybe the most overrated band ever, their cult like popularity is due to white liberals fawning over them because they were black with dreds playing punk/hc, white liberals don’t see how this is actually patronizing at best and racist at worst. anyhow, let me get back to reading 56 articles about female skaters who cant break free from gravity long enough to spin a tre flip
