Hurricane’s are built into Floridian’s lives, so much so that many won’t blink an eye as flood water turns roadways into sandbars and gasoline lines turn worse than the DMV.
As everyday as they may be, Hurricane Milton and Helene gave even the reddest neck a run for their money this hurricane season. Thrashing into the west coast of Florida a couple weeks ago, these back to back hurricane’s put a hurting on the waterfront communities of Saint Petersburg and the wider Tampa areas.
Amongst the clean up effort, Jake Fuscardo and his crew noticed new skate spots created by fallen trees and displaced concrete, and instead of sulking in the aftermath they decided to break out a camera and skate these spots for the short time they exist.
Follow along as Jake recounts the hurricane, finds spots amongst the rubble and gets a powerful word of advice from a kind local. Also, if you have the means, consider donating to the Milton and Helene relief effort HERE.
