Filmers are always stuck skating around with incredibly heavy bags that are filled with endless stuff. A lot of the time, this includes no-brainer items like wax or extra memory cards, but every now and then they hit you with some left-field shit.
In honor of the homie who always keeps super glue and a spare packet of Top Ramen on deck to use as bondo, we decided to hit up some skaters to see what they carry around on a day-to-day basis as they roam the streets.
First up we have Ducky Kovacs, a California native who has been living in the SF Bay Area for some time now. As we all know, SF is known for its hilly streets so you never know when you might be in a pinch for some quick pain relief after getting speed wobbles on a hill bomb or need a hygiene check after stepping in human poop. He dumped out his bag for us and got a little warm-up in to ham it up for the camera. Let us know if you grab any of his recommendations, and tell us what skater you want to see do a bag check next.
Cut Up Yoga Mat
When a full yoga mat won’t fit in your bag, a smaller section cut out from a full one will help you get by and provide a soft spot to lay down and get a good stretch in.
Old Friends Resistance Band
From Walker Ryan’s Old Friends brand, this resistance band helps get the muscles working for a quicker warm up.
“Sigh, Gone” hardcover book
Sometimes you get stuck on a bus or Uber ride and don’t want to stare at your phone the whole time. Books will help there.
Planner
Writing things down always helps keep them in the front of your mind instead of far in the back.
DIY sewing kit
Good for doing repairs on clothes on the spot or doing little decorative additions like sewing patches onto bags.
La Roche-Posay Sunblock
Helps protect you from harmful UV rays and keep that skin looking young.
Trader Joe’s Hand Sanitizer
It’s still COVID times, plus we’re always touching dirty surfaces skating, so always handy to keep this on deck.
The Holding Company CBG Tincture
Squirt a few drops under your tongue or into your bev of choice for some nice pain relief.
The Cream Skateboarding Liniment
Made from a blend of menthol, comfrey, and arnica, this rub will help fight pain and inflammation, kinda like IcyHot, and also has some extra hydrating ingredients like coconut oil and shea nut butter.
Bactine Max
A sprayable pain reliever that also helps fight infection on any cuts or scrapes you might catch.
The Holding Company Wolf Balm
Nice little roll-on CBD pain relieving balm with some essential oils mixed in for extra relief and smoothness.
Stiizy Weed Pen
Clutch and discreet weed pen, good for breaking away from other habits like cigarettes or drinking.
