A GLIMPSE INTO THE BAKER HAS A DEATHWISH II WORLD PREMIERE

The legend of Raspa runs deep in Jenkem lore, and through the years he’s made powerful strides in the ways of videography. Of course, by powerful strides, I mean documenting the most hairy situations and bringing after-hours skate event content to the masses.

With the hype building around “Baker Has A Deathwish 2,” a long-awaited sequel to what most would call a skate cult classic, we knew we had to carry on the tradition, so we had our friends Marco Hernandez and Austin Leleu do their best Raspa impressions at the premiere, pressing record and hitting the open bar.

What followed is something we only see a few times a year in the LA scene: a link-up of legends from all corners of the industry, appreciating one of the great houses of skateboarding.

Baker’s bar is getting pretty low, and it’s gonna catch up to them. Reynolds, Dollin, Greco, etc. are legends, but they ain’t carrying a full length. So who does that leave? Zach Allen? Lyric? Jacopo is cool on a ledge, I guess. I know there are a couple others I’d flow, but being at the top has ALWAYS required SOME skating at the top. Literal kids buy your shit. Do you even remember being a skater kid? You weren’t rewinding slow-mo slappies ’till the tape broke. Baker 2G – hijinx + 24 years = the weaker half of this? Oof.
