I always joke that pro skaters all secretly want to be musicians, and musicians all secretly want to be pro skaters. That’s obviously not true, but it’s a funny trope that maybe made more sense back in the Piss Drunx era.
Playing in hardcore bands like Grand Scheme and Payload while releasing footage like this for Quasi, obviously Dane Barker didn’t have to choose one over the other. Shame we can’t all be so lucky!
While you wait for his next leg of shows to be announced, enjoy his medley of some lesser known ’70s and ’80s tracks with some hardcore favorites sprinkled throughout. And if you’re feeling the mix, make sure to download it here while you can.
