How does a trampoline fare in the middle of a skate course?
We weren’t sure either… but we tested it out last weekend — and we’re proud to report: It absolutely goes off!!!
To bring everyone up to speed: Two years ago, we had this idea to build a silly skate obstacle course — a tribute to Unbeatable Banzuke, a niche ’90s Japanese game show that had skating in it, basically the original Kasso. But we wanted to do it our way: in NYC, open to all and skateable for all levels.
After calls across the broke-ass industry we finally locked in some partners who believed in the vision — Monster, Pabst Blue Ribbon, Sun Bum — and got the support to bring it to life. And why stop there? To amplify our efforts and create something not just 100 jaded skaters could appreciate, we invited some non-skate friends, food vendors, and DJs to build it out to be a proper Block Party to start off the Summer. From there Grillos Pickles and Skullcandy jumped in the mix too.
If you came out, Thank you! If you missed it: We’re 93.5% sure we’re running it back (and maybe even in your city). So don’t worry, we’ll keep pumping out skate-adjacent skate events for you to attend.
