Here’s a conclusion I came to recently. Your best friends are the ones you send memes back and forth with. Fuck, that would make a great Hallmark card.

But for real, think about it. There’s no quicker way to develop jokes, learn someone’s humor and develop close friendships. Here lies the origins of Left On Read, an interview series where we creep through one of our friends’ phones together.

I’m talking notes, camera roll, search histories, movie recommendations, memes, and more.

This week, we’ve unlocked Efron Danzig’s phone. You might recognize Efron from various Strobeck led projects, like Violet videos, high-fashion runways across the globe, or simply because she’s the coolest person in any room she’s in.

Luckily, she was down to clown, and her phone password is 420420. Jk, we didn’t get that intel, but we got everything else!

A Robert Altman interview with Charlie Rose. I love his movies with Elliot Gould, like The Long Goodbye & California Split. Elliot Gould is so handsome. I watched Altman’s movie The Player for the first time on a recent plane ride and it made me want to see what he was like.

Old talk show/radio show interviews, like Letterman, Howard Stern, Dick Cavet etc. Sometimes I’ll go down holes watching documentaries on fringe communities or scenes. I’ve seen a few New York ones that were cool recently, like Pedal, which hits home since I used to be an Uber Eats biker, & this other one about people who drink in bars early in the morning.

Ugly Betty, Sex in the City. When I watch TV I just want something cute & cozy I guess.

My dad gave me this recommendation the other day so I’ll pass it on. It’s called Eating Raoul. Also, here’s some Jim Jarmusch recs: Coffee & Cigarettes, NNight on Earth, Down by Law.
