Some of you reading this may know Sheezy already, but for those of you who don’t, she’s a really rad skater from Australia who I recently met while visiting Seattle.
I instantly got along with her and was constantly laughing while we were hanging, and thought she’d be a perfect person to spend a day with and point a camera just to see what sort of gold we could get. She’s always cracking jokes and is full of fun and contagious energy, so when she came down to LA for a few days, she said she was down to hang and we got to it.
Sheezy had been around parts of the US before, but there is obviously so much she hasn’t seen or done in that short time. We decided to do some classic skate tourism and checked out some famous LA area landmarks, like Sunken City and the Channel Street DIY. That was fun and all, but I wanted to push Sheezy a bit out of her comfort zone, so I suggested we try out something that is uniquely American and that we are known for worldwide (for better or worse) – shooting ranges.
I personally had never shot a gun, and I can’t say I was incredibly eager to, but what’s life if not a cycle of constantly trying new things? We both took up the challenge and headed to a shooting range to fire off some rounds and see if we had what it takes to handle an insanely deadly weapon, even if just for a few minutes.
