A couple years ago New York experienced the Great Texas Takeover, a moment in time where The Late Nite Stars crew assembled in Brooklyn and swiftly started kicking ass.
Since then, we’ve had the pleasure of working with a number of dudes from the LNS crew, but we’ve never gotten the chance to feature the good homie Alan Bell. That is, until now.
Alan is somewhat of an enigma on a board. An underdog of sorts, he skates wide-stanced and fast, like he grew up in San Francisco, yet he sprouted far from the West Coast’s hills. He dreams up tricks for niche spots like he’s lived in NYC for decades, yet he’s only a handful of years in.
The only thing predictable about the talented Texan is his love for the hometown hero DJ Screw. As a nod, his Texas roots bleed into mix 163 by way of chopping and screwing various songs peppered throughout the set, which was mixed by Alan himself.
