I vividly remember the first time I saw WWE’s Undertaker chokeslam someone. I always wondered what that chokehold would feel like, suspended in the air waiting to come crashing down, until Sean Pablo first appeared in Supreme’s Cherry in 2014.
Now that was a chokehold: on my style, my desires, my dreams. Overnight, my shirt was tucked in, my pants were rolled up, and Converse high-tops were on my wishlist.
He was an instant icon in my book, and not much has changed over the years.
Through Cherry, Pussy Gangster, Blessed, Purple, and his latest part in Point Cloud, Sean’s visual aesthetic and skateboarding prowess has never budged. Nor has his musical leanings.
For that reason, we’re happy to bring you Jenkem Mix 154, curated by Sean. There isn’t much he doesn’t cover throughout the 36 songs. It’s got indie sleaze, Kodak Black, classics from The Replacements and The Highwaymen, as well as staples like Sonic Youth and The Melvins.
While Sean continues to navigate his way through a career-altering injury and a future with Korine-led startup EDGLRD, toss on this mix and navigate yourself to a comfy chair. Download HERE or forever hold your peace.
