Hi, Angela. How are you? We are here to talk about your newest film project.
I’m doing really well. My newest movie is Fuck Angela. It’s kind of like my love letter to my favorite era and genre of porn, which, of course, is early 2000’s Gonzo. I shot it on the VX2000, which was really fun to do; it made the entire project have this really cool throwback, vintage 2000’s gritty feel that I just love. It’s obviously 4:3 aspect ratio, standard definition and it was just a really fun, fun project to do.

Before we get into the camera, what do you love about that era of porn?
It’s the porn that I really grew up watching. It’s the porn that inspired me to get into the industry. I’ve always loved that early 2000’s vibe. The porn of that era is very intense. It’s raw, it’s gritty, it’s personal. It’s a different vibe from the porn that’s made now. I think I really like the 4:3 aspect ratio as well, because it forces the viewer right into the action, like 16:9 Porn actually has a lot of dead space around the edges, but that 4:3 aspect ratio just gets you right up in there.

You made it on VHS and DVD. Does anybody have a way to play either of those?
You know, a lot of people still have their old VHS players and there’s kind of a bit of a revival and nostalgia around media like this. More and more people are actually buying VHS players.

Will it be available online somewhere so I can watch?
Yes, I’m releasing the digital edition on OnlyFans as well. I’ve been surprised at the feedback and the way that the VHS release has been received, it’s already completely sold out. The DVD, a month after it’s been released, is still number one on Adult Empire, which is the major adult online retailer. Physical media, there’s still a real love for it among fans.

I remember back in 2000 I used to work for Larry Flynt’s skateboard magazine Big Brother, and we used to raid Hustler‘s stash and take all the VHS to the liquor store and trade them in for booze. There were Jenna Jameson tapes back then going for $100. What does this VHS go for now?
Well, I actually did this deal where the first 100 buyers of the DVD got the VHS for free. So I don’t know what the price would have been, but because it’s now a collector’s item. I haven’t seen it on eBay yet, but we’ll see what it’ll end up going for. It’s maybe not so much for old fans to watch as just to keep, but yeah, now that the VHS is sold out, people are still buying the DVD. So there’s a lot of desire out there for physical media.

I see a ton of boxes behind you. Did you get hooked up with cameras?
I kind of got addicted to buying them. It’s a problem. I’ve got two VX1000s, which obviously the skate community knows a lot about this cult camera. I originally wanted to film it on the VX1000, but the lowlight capabilities are just not as good as the VX2000. And in the porn community, the VX2000 is just as big as the VX1000. So I was like, I’m going to use the VX2000. And also the VX2000 has the flip out screen, which makes it easier to get low angles with that little flip screen.

Are you going to do more of these VX films?
I think so. It’s been so much fun. I love the visuals and just having the old cameras in your hand. There’s something really cool about that and the vibe on set changes when you pull out one of the old cameras, everyone’s like, “Oh my God, that’s so cool.” Yeah, it’s a lot of fun.

How does it makes you feel to know that more skaters have probably masturbated to the VX1000 camera than to your porn?
Well [laughs] now they can masturbate to my porn on the VX2000. I think it’s really cool. I think that there’s a lot of similarities between skate culture and porn culture. I think both are very irreverent and anti-establishment, rebellious… and obviously, both skate vids and porn vids were revolutionized by the VX1000. I think it’s really cool that there’s a lot of crossover there. And I did a lot of little Easter eggs and a lot of nods to skate videos in this movie. You’ll notice that it says “Angela White, a cock sucking pornography company presents” so anyone who watches the intro to the movie, if they know Toy Machine’s Welcome to Hell video, they’ll recognize the little devil animation, which is right here. There’s a lot of little nods. Even the sticker packs that I made were inspired by old Hook Ups designs.

Do you have a background with or are you knowledgeable with skateboarding?
I don’t skate… I fucked a lot of skaters, but I never skated myself. So I grew up in a community in Australia that was quite small. All the alternative kids would hang together. So the skaters, the punks, the goths, we would all hang and every time we would hang out, there’d always be a skate video playing in the background. Whether it’s like Toy Machine’s Welcome to Hell or Heavy Metal, skating was part of the culture. Welcome to Hell was probably on every single time we would be hanging out and drinking. Watching that, the action really resonated with me. I feel like that kind of hardcore, fast action is very similar to the action you see in gonzo porn.

Absolutely. Speaking of Toy Machine, have you ever or would you ever shoot with world renowned skater/photographer Ed Templeton?
I would love to. Yes. 1000%. I would love to [laughs]. Hit me up Ed.

Did you put a Death Lens on the VX2000?
I did. I don’t know if it’s the Death Lens, but I got one of the wide angle lenses. All of the action in Fuck Angela is very much up [close] and in the action [laughs].

Did the company hook you up with these cameras or you just went and bought them?
I had a lot of help, but no, I paid for my things. I don’t expect people to just hook me up, but I was given some heavy discounts by Hunter. Shout out to Hunter for giving me some heavy discounts on the VX1000. But yeah, I did put some money down to get these.

If you had to be a spokesperson for the VX camera and really sex up your sales pitch, could you describe the camera in a sexy way?
Where would I begin? I mean, it’s so sleek and handles so well and I don’t even know. I’m not good at this. Here, does that work [angles camera at massive tits in front of several deadstock VX1000 boxes] Buy the camera!

That works. What are you going to do next with these toys?
I definitely want to shoot more scenes on it. Everyone’s asking for a Fuck Angela 2. I’m not promising that, but I do want to shoot some more scenes on it. It’s been highly requested by my OnlyFans members, so I’ll be doing some more of that.

You said it earlier and I agree with you, the similarities between the porn world and skate world are uncanny. I’m just wondering what other similarities you see between skateboarding and porn?
Well, the guerilla nature of how we shoot. Sometimes we’re shooting stuff we’re not supposed to in places we’re not supposed to. I feel like there’s a similarity between skate and porn vids. Just the attitude. Like I said before, that irreverence, rebelliousness, anti-establishment. I feel like that’s the major similarities. Also the action; there’s a lot of dangerous action in skating, and, there’s a lot of, maybe not dangerous, but, certainly acrobatic hardcore, fast paced action especially in gonzo porn.

Have you ever hurt yourself on set?
I have. There’s too many to mention, to be honest. I have hurt myself on set, but, the thing is that when I’m having sex, my pain receptors are just not recepting. I end up doing things to my body and in the moment it doesn’t hurt. Then once we’ve stopped having sex, I’m like, “Oh my God, my leg. What did I do?” There was actually one time, where I got fucked so hard for so long in full-nelson that I pinched the nerve in my thigh to the point where I lost feeling in the top part of my leg. I had to do a whole bunch of chiropractic to get feeling back to my leg!

So yeah, there’s definitely been some injuries. I haven’t broken a bone or anything like that. And of course there was the infamous appendicitis thing, which is kind of blown out of proportion.

What’s that? I don’t know that story.
That got blown up in the media. Basically after fucking Kieran Lee, with his giant million dollar penis, it’s insured for $1 million dollars, yeah, I ended up having to go to [the] hospital and my appendix almost burst.

My god.
But look, we can’t prove that it’s his dick that did it..

But you can’t prove that it wasn’t, right?
Well, they say Houdini died from being punched in the gut. And then his appendix exploded, right? I feel like his dick definitely aggravated it. Like it might have already been there, it might have already been brewing. But that fucking dick pounding into my appendix definitely didn’t help the situation.

I couldn’t imagine, it would break everything in me. You said before that you’ve filmed in crazy locations, just like skateboarding. Have you ever gotten kicked out or arrested?
Not arrested. I have been kicked out. Yes. Many times I’ve been kicked out, unfortunately.

Were you in any crazy positions at the moment when someone showed up or did you see them coming? No pun intended.
No, no. Thankfully every time I’ve been kicked out of somewhere it’s been quite calm.. Like, “Okay, we’ll leave.” [laughs]

I love hearing set mishap stories. Do you have any?
Everyone always asks about the most crazy stories on set, and I always feel like I have the most disappointing stories because I don’t have anything super wild. Like one of my early scenes. I was doing a masturbation scene with a dildo, and one of the crew members said a joke and it made me laugh so hard that the dildo shot out and hit the camera operator in the head. So there’s that. I think the craziest thing about my career has always been just that porn is crazy in and of itself. I guess some people think it’s crazy that I drank 16 loads out of a wine glass.

That seems like a regular Tuesday, though really.
I think that you might be too close to the industry because I think that’s a normal Tuesday as well. And then I tell people about it and they’re like, “That’s fucking disgusting.” People are shocked when I tell them that. I think that maybe you and I have lost touch [laughs].

If we’re desensitized and everything has been done, what is next? What could you do to pave a new path?
Not to promote my movie but I felt like that was it, like actually going backwards, going back and doing something nostalgic, a throwback, like a passion project and it really resonated with the fans as well. I feel like a lot of my fans also grew up watching that early 2000s porn. At this point in my career, I’ve done pretty much every sexual act, I’ve done blow bangs and gang bangs and double anal and triple penetration; I’ve done it. There’s not really an act I can do to go bigger. I think now for me, it’s doing projects that I really care about and that I enjoy so much that it resonates through the screen. I feel like that’s what the fans want. They want to see people on set enjoying what they do. So, I guess I’ll be shooting more on the VX2000. I’ll see what else I get inspired by.

Well I guess the last thing everybody wants to know is when you’re done with those cameras, would you auction them off?
No, I’m attached to them [laughs]. They’re kind of collector’s items really at this point.
