Before Vice started taking on politics and the news, it used to be primarily filled with stuff about sex, music, drugs and all sorts of DIY, humor type articles. It was pretty cool, like an extension of Big Brother without the skating (which some claim Vice ripped off). While the mag is focusing more on big news stories and documentaries now, they still do come out periodically with features that feel like “old Vice” – with their On Acid series being one of them. I always thought the feature looked fun and it was underutilized by them. So when we were invited to the Street League finals in Newark, we figured there was no better time to rip off their “On Acid” segment but instead of going to fashion shows or monster truck rallies, we’d test it out in the skateboard world.

Street League reminds me of WWE / WWF wrestling matches except with skateboards.
