Remember when Toy Machine’s Welcome to Hell came out? A video featuring an overt, burning critique of American life, rich in dystopian symbolism and pointed musical choices (as well as top tier skating).
Well, if Templeton and the gang were to release that video in 2025, I have a suspicion that they’d use They Are Gutting A Body Of Water on the soundtrack.
TAGABOW, as they’re otherwise known, is a four piece shoegaze band from Philadelphia, and like Welcome to Hell did in ‘96, their music and lyricism offer an honest, unforgiving analysis of modern day plights.
Frontman Doug Dulgarian speaks on life’s pains and pleasures, egged-on by a wall of blubbering guitars. And don’t get me wrong, their music isn’t discouraging. Rather, it reminds us of art’s most important job; to pass comment on the environment around us.
Given today’s boiling atmosphere, we’re happy to bring you Mix 158, orchestrated by Doug. Hopping between hardcore influences and breakbeat mayhem, something they’ve become known for in a live show setting, it’ll get you ready for whatever life’s next 90mph fastball is.
